Once upon a time, not so very long ago........

Little Leon was born with a poorly heart. This made his Mummy and Daddy sad and they decided to search for a special friend who would keep Little Leon company and look after him while he was in hospital.............

The Adventure begins..............

Rocking,rolling and Roundabouts!

After all the excitement of Batman and birthdays, we thought we would have a quiet week to recover... err, actually no!

On Wednesday daddy decided to surprise mummy and give her an early christmas present! (get your minds out the gutter people, really!) So he took her to see her favourite bunch of old men that can knock out a half decent tune at the new leeds Arena.

A great venue and a great night was had, Little Leon spent the evening tormenting Grandma & Grandad, who i think have now recovered! It was an all too rare night out for us but we had fun,

Then on Friday night Mummy had arranged a surprise Party for daddy to celebrate his upcoming birthday, Friends and family that came made it a great evening and daddy really appreciated everyone that came and a big thanks to mummy for doing it. I'll cover the birthday more when we reach the big day itself, (26th Dec if you want to send presents etc..... ;-)

Then, as if that wasn't enough, daddy popped out to see another bunch of old blokes he can still knock out a half decent tune. This time in the form of the Band Vardis,

A couple of things made this special, aside from being able to see a band I last saw play live back in 1982 (ish) it was that they were playing at the newly restored Unity hall in Wakefield, the very same venue, I had seen the band at some 30 odd years before. It was also a chance for Daddy to have a natter with and old friend as well.
It just goes to show, you're never too old to get the band back together. Hmmmm, I wonder.....

After all that excitement we took Little Leon to York, Leon clapped eyes on a traditional Carousel and decided it was time for him and mummy to go for a ride!

Woohoo, so much excitement, we had to have coffee (and cake of course)  So, Whats next? Oh yes some Little fuss about a bloke in a red suit! Watch this space.....

Little Leon is 4!

Well today Little Leon is 4, We had a party, and what a party it was!

Noel was in charge as usual and dressed suitable for the occasion in his Superbear outfit. This time he was aided and abetted by an even bigger superhero, Batman..

Batman, of course when faced with a room of children did what any superhero would do, Joined in the fun and games, showing some nifty handwork on the parachute game.

Little Leon was a little unsure at first but soon came round and was imparting his super cute ways by the end of Batmans visit.

They say that people make parties, never was truer than today. Leons is so lucky to have so many great friends and family to share his special day with. Family, friends from nursery and his littkle Heart buddies all came together today and great fun was had by all.

Lean's cousin Jasmine did a little magic show, (I shouted Izzy whizzy let's get busy, but I guess the audience was just too young to get that one) Batman was ace, The Cake Moooved everyone to smiles and laughter....

All planned like a military operation of course by Mummy!

Daddy says have you made a list!

Leons has had some ace presents from family who couldn't be there and some lovely gifts from people at the party, and some wonderful donations were made to the CHSF as well.

How big!

Oh Oh! Too big!

As you all know, it;s not been the easiest of 4 years, and at times we didn't even know if we would make this far, but we have, and will be eternally grateful to all that have been there, and continue to be there for us. Life is good at the moment, long may that continue.

Little Leon is in bed dreaming of fighting baddies with Batman and Super Noel,

So, next stop is Christmas. letters to be written to santa bear and lets see what that brings!

If I don't get chance to post (or basically forget) before Christmas, We wish you all a very happy Christmas and here's to a great 2015.

Love from Don, Helen & most of all Little Leon xxx

Choo Choo!

As we all know, daddy loves his trains, especially steam locomotives, so it's a good job that I do as well. Luckily we have a "Little Leon" sized railway near home, The Kirklees Light Railway.

Leon Sized trains!

So, given it was a lovely day we decided to go and take a ride. Mummy and daddy's friends Kev & Kali came along and brought their little Granddaughter Gracie (she's lovely) with them.

Isn't she lovely!

So we all met up and went and got on our train trip to Shelley. It was loads of fun, Mamma Moo came and did a bit of sightseeing too!
Hold tight Mama Moo it might get bumpy!

The trains change ends and it was big fun watching them on the turntable thingy as the drivers and guards did their stuff.

Mama Moo having a fun day out!
Kevin was wearing his "Gangsta Gnome" hat, me and Gracie made much fun of it on the journey, it was really funny!

Gangsta Gnome Wear now available!

Have you seen that hat!

There were lots of tunnels on the way, it was scary as it went all dark, but i hid behind Mama Moo and all was ok!

We had a great time, there was a little play area and bouncy castle at the station so we had a play and coffee and cake (of course) and then we made the trip back. I was pretty tired after all that fun so I took mummy and daddy back to the car and decided to have a little snooze on the way home.
It was lots of fun with Gracie and if you get chance I would say visit the KLR as well.

More fun to come soon, night night all xxxx

Planes and errr Planes!

A couple of weeks ago it was mummy's birthday (age a closely guarded secret!) So we decided to go out for the day and we went to Southport Airshow.

It was fab, the Red Arrows opened the show, and they were, as ever. simply superb. Daddy took loads of piccy's of them!

It was great fun, even cow loved it and started photo bombing!

The sun was shining and it was lovely and warm, we found a great spot on a hill so I could play king of the castle...

We took a picnic as well, I even shared it with Mummy !

Moo Bombing!

Apart from it being mummy;s birthday it was a special show for another reason, the last two remaining Lancaster Bombers we re-united (1 part of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the other from the Canadian War Heritage museum). This was in all probability the last time these will be seen flying together and the huge crowd showed their respects as these wonderful aircraft did their display, a memory and tribute to the many that had gone before them.

The Lancaster Bomber was daddy;s first real fascination with aircraft, and he had several models when he was a little boy, he even went to visit one at RAF Scampton with School and was lucky enough to sit in it!

There were many other aircraft at the show, Catalina, Seaking, Hurricane bomber, Catalina, The Vulcan, a Meteor.. the list goes on. daddy says we can go again next year and would recommend it to anyone.

The red arrows, must have got wind that it was mummy's birthday and did a special ending for her.    Happy Birthday Mummy!

We're all off on another adventure soon, so keep checking back for details of our adventures.

Shee you shoon!
